Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model however, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and transport tall or unstable loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of transporting loads from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right alternative.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece equipment made particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles which could work in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely handy pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
