Man Lift Designs
Available these days, there is a wide array of articulating lifts, with many types of lifts to fit each application, circumstance and work place. There are some manufacturers who specify in lifts for hazardous atmospheres like for instance petro-chemical plants, underground tunnel situations, and other venues where there is a danger of dust or explosive gases, for instance in grain-processing plants.
Other lifts have been designed particularly to mount onto big flatbed trucks or onto trailers or onto the back of a pick up truck. There are kinds of lifts that incorporate articulating booms which can be self-propelled and are controlled by the lift operator, whereas others have the ability to pivot 360 degrees.
There are lift models designed particularly for indoor and outdoor application, and come in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel powered models. In some cases, the platforms are adjustable and some kinds of lifts have baskets where the worker stands. These platforms or baskets are adjustable and allow the employees to remain level or swing into place, depending upon what the operator must complete the task. There are some platforms and baskets which come wired so as to enable the operator to plug tools in as required.
