Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescoping booms lifts are designed to mount a work bucket on a straight, extendable arm that is situated on a rotating turntable. Typically, telescoping boom lifts are utilized for tasks which require reaching at maximum height, exceeding other types of lifts. Like for instance, workers could carry out exterior repairs or renovations on medium sized buildings but using these lifts as opposed to having the extra work of setting up an outside elevator or a pulley system.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one individual. These buckets are better suited to particular tasks such as electrical repair, as opposed to general maintenance or window washing. These lifts are available in electric and gas configurations and are offered with both outdoor and indoor tires.
Scissor Lifts
Under the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machine gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. Since these equipment must be directly positioned below the work site, as opposed to boom lifts, these units are way more limited in their use.
The scissor lift typically has a bigger platform that allows the operator to control the lift to access a larger work area when the lift platform is raised off the ground. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of a problem with these models, since they should sit on flat ground in order to be used. Scissor lifts are ideal for being utilized for cladding or window installation, as they provide the personnel with the desired mobility; they are also a great option for window cleaning applications or exterior repairs.
