Kinds of Aisles
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to work in. Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into consideration with various units.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks work in less than 6 feet places and normally use certain guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks comprise Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are popular models in compact retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can work within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up units like Reach Trucks. They are commonly utilized within storage facilities and warehouses.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up models offer padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are made to reduce operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is large and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat together with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting exhaustion.
