Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places tidy and to pile up pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck could be utilized. The reach truck is available in quite a few kinds: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The most basic type is the stand-up. The forks of the truck slide underneath the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are only one pallet deep.
The double-deep reach truck is like the stand-up, but is ideal for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods. This model has telescopic forks designed to place the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when one more pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not just slide beneath the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This particular version is ideal in conditions where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Inside nearly all warehouses, there are usually more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize different kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to operate and could make the most of available storage space while increasing productivity.
