Operator Environment
Operators have a safe and efficient place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The main objective is to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is really comfortable and gently rounded. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, in order to keep the operator working as effectively as he or she could.
Vibration levels and noise levels are kept low due to the insulated mounting on the chassis. So that they can maintain an optimal working position, the operator seat and hydraulic controls are all independently adjustable. In addition, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 multi-functioned ergonomically positioned and simple to operate levers which are offered for gear changing, windscreen wipers, the window washers and horn.
To ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air which is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for heating, cooling, defrosting and recirculation. As an additional option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units which are all accessible. Basic instrumentation consists of: low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. In addition, gauges display values for gearbox oil pressure, engine coolant, operating time and fuel quantity.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is among the important options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These models make it easier to supervise the machinery. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any errors which take place and their current values.
